What will they lean?

Developing artistic skills, creativity and confidence through hands-on projects

From painting and drawing to colour, composition, texture and a variety of creative techniques, children will be introduced to different ways of making and thinking about art.

Some sessions will include step-by-step demonstrations and paint-along projects, where I show children different techniques and guide them through creating their own artwork. This gives them the opportunity to learn new skills while still making their own creative choices.

Projects are carefully planned to be fun, achievable and engaging, with children encouraged to experiment, build their confidence and develop their artistic skills as they progress.

At the end of each month, children will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice by creating their own canvas artwork. This is their chance to take everything they have explored that month and create something that is truly their own.

There is no pressure to create a “perfect” picture. The focus is on learning, experimenting, building confidence and enjoying the creative process.

Meet Sarah

A practising photographer, trained artist and lover of all things creative

Art Explorers is run by Sarah, a practising photographer and trained artist who loves helping children discover just how creative they can be. With experience working with children of all abilities, Sarah creates fun, relaxed and encouraging sessions where children can learn new skills, experiment with different materials and techniques, and most importantly, enjoy making art.

The programme is designed to give children the opportunity to explore lots of different areas of art, from painting and drawing to colour, texture, composition and a variety of creative techniques. Projects are carefully planned to introduce new skills while giving children plenty of opportunity to experiment, make creative choices and develop their own ideas.

Every session is an opportunity to learn something new, try something different and create something they can be proud of. The aim is to help children build confidence, develop their artistic skills and discover the enjoyment that comes from being creative.

More than just art

Building confidence, concentration and creative thinking along the way

Art is a wonderful way for children to develop confidence, creativity, concentration and problem-solving skills.

The club provides a relaxed and encouraging environment where children can take their time, try something new and enjoy the process of creating.

All abilities are welcome, whether your child already loves drawing and painting or is simply curious to try something new.

05. Do I need to provide art materials?

No! All art materials are included in the monthly Art Club fee. Children just need to bring themselves, their creativity and a water bottle. We recommend wearing clothes that are suitable for getting a little messy!

06. Does Art Club run during the school holidays?

Art Club runs during school term time only, so there are no weekly sessions during school holidays. Art Club does not run in August, so no payment is due for that month.

07. Can my child join at any time?

Yes! Art Club is a drop-off and pick-up club. Parents and guardians can use the car park at the front of Brickfield House Business Centre when dropping off and collecting their child.

For your child’s first session, simply enter the building through the large blue door and head to reception. Sarah will meet you at reception and take your child through to the studio. At the end of the session, Sarah will bring your child back to reception for collection.

Children will only be released to a parent, guardian or authorised adult agreed in advance.

08. How does my child's place work?

Art Club is an ongoing membership, so your child’s place is reserved for them each week during term time. Monthly payments keep their place secure, meaning you don’t need to rebook individual sessions each month.

09. Is Art Club drop-off and pick-up?

Places are limited and are available on an ongoing basis, subject to availability. Once your child’s place is confirmed, it is reserved for them each week during term time.

10. What happens if my child misses a session?

The monthly fee is for your child’s reserved place, rather than individual sessions attended. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds or reductions for sessions missed due to illness, holidays, appointments or other personal circumstances.
